Dana,
I sit here and reflect on the 55 year jounrey of my amazing sister and I realize I am so lucky to have been part of it.
You are truly one of kind and a role model to all of us on how to constantly focus on the positive side of life. I don’t know anyone who has had to rebound from more curveballs than you. You have always kept true to what makes you happy. Your unwavering focus and commitment to family, friends, work and faith throughout your life brings us all inspiration. We have all benefited from your incredibly thoughtful acts - planning those amazing weekend getaways, the detailed gifts that must have taken hours to coordinate, the games or events that force everyone to reflect on each other’s greatest qualities. Everything always come from the heart first which is an amazing quality to have.
You have conquered the professional world and left an everlasting impact everywhere you have been. You have developed numerous young leaders and have done it in a way that has helped them grow personally in their lives as well. You have had significant impacts on guiding your clients for years and now guiding one of the most important hospitals in the country to build its facilities and finances to impact children’s lives for generations. You even convinced a certain very special woman you worked with to hang out with your brother – probably one of your greatest accomplishments!
So many of us have benefited from having you in our lives especially all of our children. I am not sure there is any Aunt in the world that can outshine your commitment and impact. You use your Hansen genes to talk to our kids like adults, have meaningful conversations to get to know who they are and help them grow into amazing people. The individual trips to exciting places, the shows on ice, concerts, movies, or just staying over at Aunt Dana’s are always highlights in all their lives. I can’t thank you enough for being so dedicated to loving our children and contributing so much to making them the awesome people they are.
And last but certainly not least is what a wonderful sister and friend you have been my whole life. We were lucky to have crazy but amazing parents that taught us to focus on family and being happy. We have always stayed true to each other and I feel like we can work through anything together. And we certainly know how to have fun and stay happy.
Erin, Matthew, Avery, Charlie and I are lucky to have you in our lives and we can’t wait to be part of the next 50 years of the amazing jounrey.
Love you,
Brian H.
